Endure! The Next Revolution In Running
"America's got a BIG Running Problem, and I'm here to fix it." What's the big problem among American runners? We have youth & high school running programs following the same training styles & formats that adult marathoners use, and until now, no one has said anything about this crazy method of training. Thanks to these dated methods, we have this 'image' of a runner: the lone person, out in the boonies, running for miles on end, as if they had nothing better to do. Today's kids see this image, and don't even want to give the sport a shot! "I don't wanna run forever!" they cry out, giving it as an excuse for NOT trying the awesome sport of running. Another reason today's kids don't run any more is because of the perception that it takes so much extra time to get in 'all those endless miles'. (In fact, many adults have this same image, and avoid the sport & even just the simple activity of it for health. Could that be you, too?) Today's kids simply don't have the time, or the endurance, that we used to have years ago. Time is eaten up with various sports commitments, video games, commuting time, & other activities. Our fast-paced lifestyle isn't adaptable any more to this 'long & slow' way of traditional training. There's simply no more time to run for 7-9 miles, when you race for 3.1 or less! We've simply run out of time. However, we have a better way to make use of the limited time we have left. The best part?
